Sorry for the couple week break since the last newsletter. Always feel super guilty when I don’t get it out.

One of the big reasons has been because I’ve been building out more systems and plans for hosting a series of AI events (ALL FREE OF COURSE):

AI IRL Social

  • Bi-weekly networking events for anyone interested in AI: builders, entrepreneurs, business owners, or just AI curious. A place to connect in real life with people excited about the future of AI, no matter what skill level you’re at

  • First event is at the new Willie’s in Leander (just went last week for the first time, place is awesome!) on Thurs May 14th, 4:30-6pm

  • Next one will likely do at the end of may in the morning. Reply and let me know if it’s better/easier for you in the morning or happy hour time

AI Clinic (Virtual Office Hours)

  • Super casual way to ask questions about something that has you stuck, or wanting to learn.

  • If you’re new to AI, or at the mid level getting started with agents and Claude Code, this is a great get some answers and brainstorm things

  • If you’re a rockstar AI person, this one is not for you, because you’ll probably be way smarter than me. Hopefully soon we’ll have a call specifically for the advanced users

  • But if you’re trying to learn, jump on! Happy to connect and see where I can help.

AI IRL Workshops

  • Wanting to do the in-person AI 101 trainings, but still haven’t been able to lock down a venue. Just don’t have time to chase down owners or managers of locations that could fit. Since they have to be willing to do it for free, have space for 40 and have a big screen of some kind.

  • If you own one, or know someone who does, please connect me. I need it to be easy to get it confirmed and set up, then I’ll happily lead them.

Excited to get out and meet as many of you as possible, and help connect all the great people in WilCo!

Hutto’s Live Oak Mainline Targets Samsung Suppliers, With 650K Square Feet in Play

Opening Hype: Hutto is making its next Samsung-adjacent move. Live Oak Mainline, a long-planned industrial project in Hutto’s megasite corridor, is being marketed as a shovel-ready site with up to 650,000 square feet across as many as six industrial buildings. The target is clear: parts makers, equipment vendors, logistics firms, and suppliers looking for fast access to Samsung’s Taylor semiconductor campus.

Why It Matters: The site sits along the U.S. 79 and FM 3349 corridor, about four miles west of Samsung’s roughly 1,200-acre Taylor campus. That puts Hutto in prime position to catch supplier traffic as Samsung ramps, and it gives Williamson County another shot at turning chip investment into manufacturing jobs, property tax base, and permanent industrial gravity.

Bigger Picture: Taylor got the headline. Hutto wants the supply chain. With roads and utilities advancing in the megasite corridor, the Live Oak Mainline pitch is about speed: get tenants in, connect them to infrastructure, and put them close enough to Samsung to matter. If the supplier wave lands, the Taylor-to-Hutto stretch stops looking like two fast-growing towns and starts looking like a regional semiconductor spine.

Systems Engineer at Samsung Electronics ($70,480 - $179,090)

Samsung is hiring a Systems Engineer in Taylor, with a salary ceiling that puts it at the top of this week’s board. The role supports technical systems inside Samsung’s semiconductor operation, the kind of infrastructure work that becomes more valuable as Taylor’s fab activity moves from construction into operations.

The listing is full-time and tied directly to Samsung’s Taylor presence, with medical, vision, dental, PTO, life, and retirement benefits listed. For anyone with semiconductor systems experience, this is the cleanest WilCo signal of the week.

Wisper Flow is the best tool you’re not using

I can’t stress enough how valuable Wispr Flow has been to my work. I almost never type more than two sentences anymore, because I can just speak them.

And the best use case for it is working with LLMs. Because the more context you give the LLM, the better the output in most cases. So you can speak much faster and more naturally about what you’re looking for than you can typing where instinctively self censor and overthink because typing is slower than your brain is working.

Can’t recommend this tool enough. If you sign up for it and love it, let me know! If you hate it, let me know that too, but highly doubt that would happen.
